Mesh cloth is a fiberglass product. One of its most important functions in wall construction is to prevent wall cracks. When the building is used for a long time, it will deform slightly, and even the wall will deform or tilt to a certain extent. In the process, the putty on the wall will be pulled, causing cracks. Before applying putty, hang a layer of fiberglass mesh on the wall to separate the putty from the wall. With the mesh cloth, when the wall deforms, the putty on the surface will not be affected.
Construction steps for hanging fiberglass mesh on the wall
To hang fiberglass mesh on the old wall: first apply a layer of interface agent on the wall, and then directly paste the mesh on the wall. Then level it with gypsum on the fiberglass mesh cloth and sand it. Finally, just scrape putty on the mesh cloth and apply latex paint or wallpaper.
Hanging fiberglass mesh cloth on the new wall: There is no leveling layer on the surface of the new wall. At this time, it is recommended to hang the fiberglass mesh cloth (metal mesh can also be used on the new wall, the effect is better) directly under the leveling layer. The steps are to use cement nails or insulation nails to fix the mesh cloth on the wall, and then use cement mortar to make a leveling layer. Finally, scrape putty directly on the leveling layer and decorate the wall.
