Alkali resistant fiberglass mesh fabric is relatively soft and can only disperse the deformation of stress (excluding temperature deformation), but cannot share the tensile force for the coating layer. When the mass per unit area of fiberglass mesh increases, the tensile bonding strength of the face bricks increases, but the increase is not significant.

When the mesh size of fiberglass mesh fabric increases, the tensile bonding strength of face bricks shows a trend of first increasing and then decreasing.

The alkali resistant fiberglass mesh cloth has little effect on enhancing the strength of the base layer, and cannot effectively disperse the load of the decorative layer on the base layer. The load still directly acts on the insulation layer with lower strength.

Alkali resistant mesh fabric only enhances the tensile strength in the parallel direction, without significant improvement in the strength in the vertical direction. The damaged surface after drawing is concentrated on the surface of the fiberglass mesh fabric. Whether using single-layer fiberglass mesh fabric or double-layer fiberglass mesh fabric, it is not recommended to use brick veneer reinforcement.

However it has been proven that reinforced double-layer reinforced alkali resistant fiberglass mesh can be used for reinforcement, and the alkali resistant fiberglass mesh has better alkali corrosion resistance and construction operability than hot-dip galvanized steel wire mesh.
