Three Common Gluing Methods and Characteristics of Mesh Cloth

Jun 04, 2025

The gluing of mesh cloth is used to shape the warp and weft of the product. There are three common gluing methods: polypropylene alkali-resistant emulsion, urea-formaldehyde glue, and latex-urea mixture. There are different gluing methods according to different product types, scope of use, and areas of use.
A. Scope of use: Different gluing methods are used in different places of use. When used on interior walls, latex will be applied because the product is soft and can adapt to the complex environment of the interior wall; urea-formaldehyde glue is mostly used on exterior walls, or latex is baked very hard, because most of them are large, flat surfaces and are easy to construct.
B. Area of use: Because this product is easy to harden and become brittle in cold areas, it is easy to soften and collapse in hot and humid areas. This is why alkali-resistant emulsions are often used for shaping in the north, especially in the northeast, and urea glue is often used for shaping in the south.
C. Product type: For products with very small gram weight, the warp and weft yarns will be very thin. In this case, only polypropylene emulsion with very good adhesion can be used for shaping. In addition, large-mesh fiberglass mesh with 10mm holes can only be used in this way because the holes are too large and the warp and weft yarns are too far apart.
