Compared with ordinary non-alkali and medium-alkali glass fiber, alkali-resistant glass fiber has its remarkable characteristics: good alkali resistance, high tensile strength, and strong corrosion resistance in cement and other strong alkali media. Irreplaceable reinforcing material in glass fiber reinforced cement products (GRC).


Alkali-resistant glass fiber is the base material of glass fiber-reinforced cement (GRC). With the deepening of wall reform and economic development, GRC has been widely used in building interior and exterior wall panels, insulation panels, air duct panels, garden sketches, art sculptures, civil engineering, and other purposes. Some products and components that are difficult or incomparable to reinforced concrete can be made. It can be used in non-load-bearing, secondary load-bearing, and semi-load-bearing building components, decorative parts, agricultural and animal husbandry facilities, etc.
Alkali-resistant glass fiber mesh cloth is made of medium-alkali and alkali-free glass fiber mesh cloth, which is processed by acrylic copolymer glue. The mesh cloth has high strength, excellent alkali resistance, acid resistance, and good adhesion to resin. Strong, easily soluble in styrene, excellent in stiffness and positioning, mainly used as reinforcing materials for cement, plastic, asphalt, roof, and wall. It is mainly used for GRC pre-paving, smearing, or mechanized molding, especially suitable for on-site construction of external wall insulation projects.


Alkali-resistant grid cloth standard
1. 14.5% to 16.7% of zirconia and 6% of titanium dioxide are introduced into the glass composition, melted at a high temperature of 1600 ℃, drawn into continuous filaments by platinum, and twisted and twisted into textile glass fibers. During the process, the monofilaments are coated with polymer water-soluble epoxy resin and coupling agent to meet the affinity between the glass fiber mesh cloth and the alkali-resistant polymer during post-processing.

In order to further improve the safe and stable durability of the alkali-resistant glass fiber mesh cloth, it is coated with styrene-butadiene rubber and pure acrylic emulsion after warp knitting into a leno shape, and it is glued with constant temperature, constant speed, and constant tension control technology. Sufficient (this process is an alkali-resistant coating technology developed by BASF in Europe for alkali-free glass fiber mesh cloth) can effectively resist the erosion of polymer mortar Ca(OH)2 hydration period on glass fiber mesh cloth in the early stage. After coating, the anti-slip strength of the mesh cloth junction point is 3.5-4.5N.
3. The alkali resistance of alkali-resistant glass fiber mesh cloth is not only coated with an alkali-resistant coating, but its main alkali-resistant way is to form a mixed film of zirconium and titanium ions on the surface of the fiber itself to prevent the erosion of alkaline substances. With the growth of time, the chemical state of zirconium gradually tends to be stable. For example, the alkali-resistant retention rate of alkali-resistant glass fiber mesh cloth in Table III is greater than 85%, which is much higher than that of other glass fiber alkali-resistant coated mesh cloths, so we can also call it natural alkali-resistant glass fiber mesh cloth.
